Challenge #4 at Aurora Wings

This month’s challenge at Aurora Wings is to try your hand at “No Lines Coloring,” (search "no lines coloring" for resources if you are unfamiliar with the technique) but if you find that more of a challenge than you're up to, you have the option of choosing a color scheme from our Color Bingo Card, either down, across or diagonally. We can't wait to see what you come up with

Our prizes each month will include: (To be eligible to win any of the prizes listed below, you must have a COLORED digital image or rubber stamped image on your project.)
  • 1 (one) Artist's Choice Award Winner to be selected from entries using Aurora Wings digis ($20 GC and Badge)
  • 1 (one) Random Winner ($20 GC)
  • Top 3 Winners to be chosen by the DT ($10 GC and Badge)

I love the “no lines” technique, but it is really something that I did not want to try this time around. I decided to select from our Color Bingo card. I chose the top row, black/yellow/blue. I also chose one of my favorite Aurora Wings digis, Chrysanthymum Festival. She has been in my pile to color for a while and I finally got her done.

Chrysanthemum Festival was colored with Copics. I completed the coloring with accents from a glitter pen. She was the trimmed and layered with Spellbinder’s 5”x7” Matting Basics B on Stampin’ Up!’s Pacific Point cardstock.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, & R20
Hair: C1, 3, 5, 7, 9, & Black 100
Mums and Butterflies:
B21, 24, 26, 29 &
Y15, 17, 18, 28
Background: W00, 0, 1, 2, Y15, & B21

I die cut Stampin’ Up!’s Crushed Curry cardstock with Spellbinder’s 5”x7” Mystical Embrace. This is a beautiful die. I know that I am going to get a lot of use out of it. My designer paper that backs this die is something that I received a while back as a gift therefore I have no idea who the company is. These two layers were then backed by Stampin’ Up!’s Basic Black cardstock and mounted on a 5”x7” card base in Pacific Point cardstock. The finishes touches are some yellow flat-backed pearls from KaiserKraft.

I am so glad you stopped by today. I wanted to remind you about our Clean and Simple Contest that is still going on through June 30th on our Facebook Group Page. I hope we see you little pieces of art in both places.

Thanks for your visit and if you have any questions, please contact me.

Stitch It!

That’s our new challenge theme over at Delicious Doodles. We want to see some stitches, be it real or faux, in your little piece of art. We would love to see Delicious Doodles images on your creations (Why wouldn’t you want to?), but it is not a requirement. If you do use a Delicious Doodles image you can enter TWICE, and you get to be spotlighted next week! First entry - just link up to you project as normal. Second entry - type '2nd entry' after your name and link to your blog.

For my project I used one of my favorite images from Teri’s imagination, Blossom. My stitching was completed with a back stitch and gold thread. I think I like the outcome.  Blossom was colored with Copics and some accents were completed with glitter gel pens and flat-backed pearls.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, and R20
Hair: E25, 29, 31, 50
Dress: V09, 12, 15, 17
Flowers & Butterflies:
BG11, 13, 15, 18, 49, and
YR01, 12, 16, 18

My designer paper is from a Flying Unicorn monthly kit. My cardstock is, of course, Stampin’ Up!’s Really Rust, Bermuda Bay, and Basic Black. The last little detail was a Cheery Lynn’s Ivy Corner Flourish die cut in black and then cut in half.

I hope you join us for this week’s Delicious Doodles “Stitch It” challenge. If you do and you create a project using a Delicious Doodles image, hop on over to our Delicious Doodles Facebook group and post your project.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I see you again. If you have any question, please contact me.

Variations Week with Posy at Sweet Pea Stamps

Hi all! This week is Variations Week at Sweet Pea Stamps. The wonderful image that was picked for us is Posy by Norma J. Burnell. I fell in love with Ms. Burnell’s “fairies tangles” a while back. When I found out that Lynette was going to carry the stamps, I went to town. Now you can also get them in digital format too. For my project I used the digital format.

Posy was a joy to work with. She did not need too many embellishments, but just enough so that you do not lose sight of Posy. I colored her with Copics and did some glitter accenting with a gel pen.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, and R20
Hair: E25, 29, 31, 50
Background: W00, 0, 1, 2, and V01
Flowers & Tangles
BV01, 02, 04, 08
V01, 06, 09, 20
R20, 22, 27, 89

I trimmed Posey and layered her on Stampin’ Up!’s Rose Red and Basic Black cardstock. The designer paper is from my stash. Posy’s trimming was done with Spellbinder’s Card Creator in sets Basic A and B. A few of the last embellishments are Spellbinder’s Die D-Lites Floral Corner One and some flat-backed pearls from my stash. I hope you like her.

If you haven’t joined us at One Sweet Challenge, I hope you do. Our June challenge is “Hit the Beach.” We also have a little “art contest” going on in our Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook group. That theme is “anything goes,” and you MUST use a Sweet Pea image.

Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, please contact me.

“For You Dad” at Dilly Beans

Happy Friday! I hope that you are ready for the weekend and a brand new challenge over at Dilly Beans Challenge. Our theme for the next two weeks is “Masculine/For Dad.” Father’s Day is very close. To enter, you MUST use a Dilly Beans image. Why wouldn’t you?

For my little card I used Megan’s cute little hedge hog, Crinkles. This one happens to be #363-Crinkles Heart Flowers Framed. Crinkles was colored with Copics and accented with some glitter pens and a white gel pen.

Copics used:
Crinkles: E25, 29, 31, 50
Nose & Legs: W5, 7, 9
Leaves: G40,94, 99
Hearts: R22, 27, 89

My designer paper was DCWV’s The Timeless Type Stack. I layered everything with Stampin’ Up!’s Cranberry Crisp and Early Espresso cardstocks. For a little more texture I added some cheese cloth behind Crinkles. My sentiment was computer generated and layered on Spellbinder’s Grommet Tags. I also did a little distressing with a tool and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

I hope you join us for our Dilly Beans Challenge. After you enter we would love for you to take a visit to our Dilly Beans Facebook group and post your little piece of art.

Thanks for the visit! If you have any questions, please contact me. Have a great and creative weekend
