It’s All About Flowers at Lacy Sunshine

Happy Sunday! It is beautiful in Oklahoma! I am ready for everything to start budding and blooming and me sneezing, but that's part of it! With that said, we have a new challenge for you over at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog. This will be our 30^th challenge and the theme is “flowers.” There is a loyalty program going on. For my flowers project, I chose a Flower Pot Pretties, Gemma Gerbera Daisy. Heather, artist and owner of Lacy Sunshine, has some of the most darling Flower Pot Pretties for you to play with. I colored Gemma with Copics, Spica pens, and a white gel pen. My cardstock is Rich Razzelberry and Old Olive from Stampin’ Up! The designer paper is from my stash.

This was a very simple layout, which I like. If at all possible when I am designing, I want that image to pop off the page. For “Gemma Gerbera Daisy” I die cut with a very old Spellbinder’s die, Scalloped Edge Frame (I have no idea if it is even available today). My daisies are cut from the Rich Razzelberry cardstock and a Sizzix Flower, Daisies #2 die. After cutting the daisies, I added some Clear Wink of Stella Brush Marker for that added sparkle. These brush markers are my favorite glitter markers, it’s glitter on steroids.

She Has Flowers in Her Hair

It’s challenge time at Dilly Beans. Our challenge theme for the next two weeks is “Flowerful.”  We want to see a lot of flowers. This theme is perfect now that spring is finally arriving. Remember you must use a Dilly Beans digi stamp to be entered in the challenge. Why wouldn’t you want to create with a Dilly Beans image?

For my project I decided on Raine. She is another one of my Dilly Beans favorite. I love coloring all that hair. I colored with Copics and accented just a little with a white gel pen, and glitter pens. My designer paper and cardstocks in Rich Razzelberry and Old Olive are from Stampin’ Up!

I kept my die cuts pretty simple. I cut the image with Spellbinder’s Large Circle die.  My corners we made using Spellbinder’s Die D-Lites Corner Sprigs. I do recommend using wax paper with this die. The wax paper helps with removing the cut paper from the die. All my flowers, and there’s a lot of flowers, are from my stash, some are from Prima, Spare Parts, and Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Challenge No. 29 with Lacy Sunshine

My second post in over a month! I am on a roll this weekend. I will have to take another break, but I will not let a month fly by before I post again.

We have Challenge #29 ready for you at the Lacy SunshineChallenge blog. This time around the theme is “Anything Goes.” Of course, there are rules, and you can read the guidelines here. There’s also a “loyalty” program, you won’t want to miss that.

For my “Anything Goes” project I decided I felt like a little Steampunk. My image that I chose is “Gia Von Gadget.” She is available in the “Lacy Sunshine Gang” section of Heather’s shop. I love Steampunk, and Gia is one of the cutest Steampunk babes I have seen in a while.

I colored Gia with Copics, did some fussy cutting, and then layered her on a cog from Spellbinder’s, and a Make It Crafty chipboard heart with wings. My designer paper is from Graphic 45. The paper was layered with Stampin' Up! Taken with Teal and Basic Black cardstock.

The cog and the heart with wings were accented with some of my favorite DecoArt products. The cog was accented with DecoArt Rich Espresso Elegant Finish Metallic Paint. After that was dry I rubbed DecoArt Black Shimmer Metallic Luster. I love the Metallic Luster. The chipboard piece was painted with DecoArt Elegant Finish Medieval Gold Glaze. Second coat was some dabbing with DecoArt Americana Antique Teal acrylic and the last coat was more dabbing with DecoArt Elegant Finish Glorious Gold paint.

For the final accents I added some chipboard black bats and metal sprockets.

Sweet Pea Tilda

I have finally been able to get a little breathing room to be able to create. My studio and my blog have been very lonesome. I’ve been going through some pulmonary rehab for the past couple of months and I had to lay off some of my design team duties. Over the next few months it will be makeup time for me.

To start off I decided to create with one of my favorite Magnolia stamps, Sweet Pea Tilda. This stamp is available at StampingScrapping. There’s a lot that’s available at Stamping Scrapping, not just Magnolia stamps. In fact, I purchase most of my supplies here. If Cindy does not have it, I bet ‘cha she can get it for ya'.

On to my little piece of art! Sweet Pea Tilda was colored with Copics. After I completed the coloring, I then die cut her with one of Cindy Echtinaw’s Spellbinder’s Card Creator Dies, Fancy Postage Edge. She was then mounted on Stampin’ Up! cardstock in Certain Celery and Bravo Burgundy.
