It’s all about Hearts and Love

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful week. Hopefully the majority of the US is warming up. Oklahoma is supposed to be in the 60s. It’s going to feel like spring.

It’s also Valentine’s Day today and Dilly Beans has a new challenge that will put you in the mood. Megan also has some new digital designs in her shop.

I would like for you to meet Mimi. This digi is “Mimi’sHearts Framed.” This little charmer was colored with Copics and accented with some Spica pens. My cardstock colors are Stampin’ Up!’s Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, and Eggplant Envy.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, R20
Hair, Eyes, & Leaves: YG21, 23, 25, 67
Dress & Eyelids: V000, 01, 05, 06, 09
Hearts, Borders, & Dress Trim: R32, 35, 37, 39, 89
Background: W000, 0, 1, 2, R32

I decided to make my own background paper with some sprays and watercolor paper. At first I did not like it, but it has grown on me. I love it when I do make my own backgrounds. Getting messy is a joy for me!

My recipe for the background paper is Dylusions inks in Cherry Pie and Crushed Grape. After that was dry, I sprayed with some LSG Hottie Patottie Hot Pink. That was not red enough for me, so I covered that in Fired Brick DI. There still needed some movement, so I pulled out a little heart stencil and went to town tracing with a Pitt marker. The added sparkle was completed with Red Wink of Stella brush tip marker.

I finished up the card with some Spellbinder’s classic hearts and scalloped classic hearts dies. The red hearts were given some sparkle with the clear Wink of Stella brush tip marker.

You won't want to miss Megan's Bogo Sale. This is in celebration of her birthday. Happy Birthday Megan! Buy One, Get One, can't beat that!

I hope you join us in our Hearts & Love challenge. Remember to use a Dilly Bean’s digi stamp. When you do enter, please come join our Dilly Bean Facebook group and share your “Hearts & Love” project.

Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Gotta Love, Love, Love Tilda

Yes, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. I know that I am late with this posting, but I wanted to show you this cute card that I finished last week as part of the StampingScrapping design team.

Meet “Love, Love, Love Tilda.” It has been a really long time that I did something just for the cuteness of it. That’s how I feel about the Magnolia stamps; they are just all so darn cute. In fact, I create a card for my Mother on her birthday every year. And each card has to be a Tilda. She adores them.

I colored Tilda with my Copics and added a little glitz with Spica pens. The cardstock is Stampin’ Up!’s Bravo Burgundy and Pretty in Pink. My designer paper is Trimcraft’s Rose Garden. This collection of papers is beautiful. I have used in many times in the last month. Tilda is cut with a circledie cut and then I added Memento Rhubarb Stalk to the edges.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, R20
Hair: E33, 35, 37, 49, 59
Dress & Shoes: R81, 83, 85, 89
Dress ruffle: C00, 3
Background: W00, 0, 1, 2, RV91

My die cuts were from Spellbinder’s Large Classic Circles and Butterfly Circles. See those little butterflies in the corners? Those are the waste from the Butterfly Circles. I need to keep that in mind when I am looking for very small butterflies.

The roses are from my stash. The LOVE wood veneer sentiment was altered using some gesso. I let that dry and then sprayed with Cranberry Adirondack Color Wash. Before the color wash could dry I wiped it down with a paper towel. The final embellishments are tiny pearls that were made with Petal Pink Liquid Pearls. The more I use the Liquid Pearls the more I am enjoying them. I will never want for a certain color in flat-backed pearls. You can even paint with them.

Love Tilda will be entered in the following challenges:
City Crafter Challenge – Project with the word “Love”
Magnolida Down Under – Hearts and Flowers
Through the Craftroom Door – Anything Goes
Artistic Inspirations – Anything Goes/Valentine’s Day
Fashionista Challenge – Shabby Chic

That’s it for today. If you have any questions, please contact me.

  • Each of The Sunshine Girls will randomly pick a winner and give an image of your choice from Heather’s Lacy Sunshine Shoppe

For my project today I was given the beautiful image of Cherished Wings “Dawn.” She is precious and I thoroughly enjoyed coloring her. I still need some practice with fabric folds, but one of these days I will have it down.

Dawn was colored with Copics and a few sparkles were added with Spica pens. My designer paper is from the Flying Unicorn January Kit. I distressed the edges and added some Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink around the edges. This was then layered with Stampin’ Up!’s Pretty In Pink and Bravo Burgundy cardstock.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, R20
Hair: E21, 23, 25, 29, 49
Dress: R81, 83, 85, 89
Rose: R21, 22, 24, 27, 59, and
G02, 24, 29

My background lace is some that I have had in my stash for a long time. It is vintage and just right for Dawn. My other embellishments are Spellbinder’s Gold Corner Set One, Opulent Ovals, and Large Classic Ovals.

This Cherished Angel Dawn art card is available in my Zibbet shop.

I would like to enter Dawn in the following challenges:

The LOVE Challenge at Sweet Pea

Happy Monday! There’s a new challenge for you at Sweet Pea’s “One Sweet Challenge.” Our February theme is all about LOVE.

For my project I colored the beautiful image by Helena Reis, “Follow Your Heart.” This beauty is available in digital format or as a rubber stamp, a format for everyone.

My “Follow Your Heart” is in the digital format. I have colored her with Copics and did some accenting with a red Spica pen. I then cut her with Spellbinder’s Labels 28. My layers of cardstock are from Stampin’ Up! in Cherry Cobbler and Perfect Plum. The designer paper is from Trimcraft’s Rose Garden collection.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, R20
Hair: E42, 43, 44, 47, 49
Dress: R32, 35, 37, 39, 89, and
V000, 09, 12, 15, 17
Heart: R32, 35, 57, 39
Background: W0, 1, 2, 3, V01, 14

As you can see, I used several die cuts for this card. The hearts are die cuts from Spellbinder’s Classic Hearts and Classic ScallopedHearts. After I cut the hearts, I added Stickles and then found some heart brads. I have had these brads for years and have never used them. I just fell in love with brads again. ;o) Most of the background designer paper is covered with a doily that I added some Dusty Concord Distress Ink and then cut into halves.

My little flower spray was created with Spellbinder’s Layered Scalloped Posy. I painted the posies with Carmen Red Viva Décor 3-D Stamp Paint. After that was dry I added some little drops of Orchid LiquidPearls. The vines were created with Spellbinders Die D-Lites Corner Sprigs. I cut the largest die in half and added Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to the embossed areas.

I hope that you will join us over at One Sweet Challenge. You must use a Sweet Pea image for your chance to win. After you have completed your entry, please share your little piece of art with us at SPS’s Facebookgroup. Just a note: In our Facebook group we have a weekly contest for more chances to win some beautiful

Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, please contact me. I hope you have a wonderful and creative first week in February.

Happy Heart Day with RSD

The weekend is here and in Oklahoma the weather is perfect for staying in my studio! That’s really not an excuse. If I am not cooking or doing laundry, that’s where you will find me.

My project today is for the month of February and Valentine’s Day. Rick has drawn one happy little dude for us, “Happy Heart Day 2014.” I call him my “happy little dude” mainly because I fell in love with that little face. It just makes you smile. You can find Happy Heart Day in Rick’s Zibbet shop or in his Etsy shop.

If you receive Rick’s monthly newsletter, you will notice some changes. There are no more monthly freebies. But there are two ways of obtaining Happy Heart Day. You can receive this image with any purchase between today and Feb. 15. Thereafter it will be available in the two shops listed above. We are still having our monthly challenge, but there is a change on the way the prize is awarded. The more people entering our monthly challenge the bigger the prize. The closing date for this challenge is Feb. 22. This gives the EDT time to visit your blogs and decide who we think is the winner; no Random.org is used for our challenges.

On to my project. My happy little dude was colored with Copics and a few Spica pens were added for some sparkly. The designer paper is BasicGrey’s Sweet Threads collection. My cardstock is from my favorite company, Stampin’ Up!, and is in Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, R20
Hair: E42, 43, 44, 47, 49
Clothes & Hat: YG21, 93, 95, W6
Roses & Hearts: R32, 35, 37, 39, 89
Hose, Sleeve, Feather, & Collar: W00, 1, 3, 4
Shoes & Glove: C00, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
Background: W00, 0, 1, 2, 3

Other supplies were: Ribbon, pins, metal leaves, red rhinestones, and roses, are from my stash. The dies are Spellbinder’s dies Labels 9, Classic Hearts, and Classic Scalloped Hearts.

I hope that you pick up your little fella and join in the challenge. After you do that, head over to our RSD’s Facebook Group and show us your little piece of art. If you use any of Rick’s images in your art, come on over and share with us.

Happy Heart Day will be entered in the following challenges:
Crafty Creations - Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter

Happy Valentine’s Day! If you have any questions, please contact me.
