A Glimpse of Halloween

Happy Saturday to all my favorite people. I have a Halloween treat for you today! There’s really several Halloween treats for you at the Sparkle & Glitter Design Team blog (SNG). I hope you check it out.

I would like to introduce you to Bear Dracula, designed by Rick St. Dennis MFA. Isn’t he the cutest Dracula you have ever seen? He is available at I Brake for Stamps in a full sheet of the cutest bear rubber stamps that you will ever own. I am a little biased on the cuteness. All of Rick’s images make you want to grab them and color. I am sure that you have other teddy bear stamps, but I loved coloring this little dude with my Copics.

Copics used:
Bear: E21, 23, 25, 29
Cape: C1, 3, 5, 7, 9
Vest: YR00, 12, 15, 18
Shirt: V000, 09, 12, 15, 17, and
YG21, 23, 25, 67
Background: W0, 1, 2, 4

I printed Bear Dracula twice, colored one, and used the other one for a backdrop. The backdrop was die cut with Spellbinder's large circle die, and used Copics for the shadowing. After the Copics, I distress the edges with Gathered Twigs DI. This backdrop was then mounted on Spellbinder’s Scallop die-cuts in Stampin' Up!’s Really Rust and True Thyme cardstock. After finishing with the coloring on the main image, I fussy cut Bear Dracula and mounted him onto the backdrop.

Now it’s time to assemble the card. The designer paper is from my stash. I trimmed everything to size, added some copper skeleton leaves and bat cutouts from Alpha Stamps. I need to order some more bats, I love them. Those bats were embellished with Smooch Glitz.

Dracula the Bear will be intering the following challenges:
Just Add Ink - Just add coloring
QKR Stampede - Kick up your heals

That’s it for today. Now, hop on over to the SNG blog and check out the other team members awesome little pieces of art.

Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Artist of the Week at SPS

Hi all! I am posting today with an inspiration piece from Sweet Pea Stamps (SPS).

We, the SPS Design Team, have started a new “Artist of the Week” venture that will happen one week out of every month. Our artist for this month is Norma J. Burnell and her Fairy Tangles rubber stamps. My inspiration piece is created with the beautiful rubber stamp “Sapphire.” I was itching to touch my Copics to this tangled fairy.

Copics used:
E000, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 31, 34,
E35, 37, 39, 42, 43, 44, 47, 49
G40, 82, 85, 94, 99
R02, 05, 08, 20
V09, 12, 15

After trimming Sapphire, I distressed the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and then layered with Stampin’ Up!’s Concord Crush and Kraft cardstock. The designer paper is from my stash, as are the nail heads. That delicious die is SCACD’s Dandelion Knoll Corner. I love that die, well, really I LOVE all my dies! You can never have enough dies or stamps, rubber or digital!

This week SPS is reducing the price of Norma’s Fairy TanglesArt Collection by 15%, which is a steal! SPS’s red rubber stamps are the best on the market. Before any are shipped, Lynette, Owner of SPS, makes sure that your stamp gives you the cleanest and most precise stamped image.

Sapphire will be entered in the following challenges:
Color Me Creative - Anything Goes
Cuttlebug Mania -Anything Goes, Die Cuts
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure and visit the SPS DesignTeam’s blog every day for more inspiration from the talented SPS Design Team. If you have any questions, don't hesitate contacting me.

Crane of Peace at Sweet Pea Stamps

Hi all! I have a little inspiration piece from ching chou kuik’s fantasy art collection at Sweet Pea Stamps. This little beauty is “Crane of Peace.” I have created with the digital image, but she is also available as a single rubber stamp, or from sheet 53, plate 249 at the store.

I hope you are ready for purple, ‘cause there’s a lot of it. I didn’t mean for that to happen, but that’s the way all of my elements worked out.

I colored her with my Copics and did a little highlighting with a white pen and Spica pens.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, E11, R30
Hair: E50, E25, E29
Kimono: R21, R22, R24, R29, R89 &
V20, V22, V25, V28, BV08
Background: YR01, R21, V20, G93, G97

My framed die cut is Spellbinder’s Card Creator Die A2 FiligreeDelight.  After I cut the pieces I painted the cut with violet Viva Décor 3-D paint. I also touched the edges of the main image.

My flowers are from my stash. I did some dry brushing with white and violet Viva Décor 3-D paint. My little butterflies are from a very old Martha Stewart punch. I added white and silver Viva Décor 3-D paint. My designer paper is from Heartfelt Creations.

Challenges Crane of Peace is entering:
Color me Creative - Anything Goes

I hope you visit our Sweet Pea Design Team blog. There is creative inspiration every day of the week. Remember that there is a challenge at One Sweet Challenge. The theme is using your favorite technique.

Thanks for stopping by! If you have any questions, just ask.
