Blossum and 613 Avenue Create

I hope everyone has had a great weekend. We have a little sign of spring this weekend in Oklahoma. It would be so nice if it would stay.

Today Rick St. Dennis MFA is the sponsor over at 613 AvenueCreate Challenge Blog

613 Avenue Create’s theme is Earth Day. The challenge is a color combo celebrating Earth Day.

I have the honor of being a guest designer for this challenge. I have chosen a new Randi Dandi, Blossum. Blossum is not in Rick’s shop, but I feel very lucky to have been able to color and create something with this cutie.

My mojo slipped out the door, but I was able to put this little card together. Blossum was colored with my Copics. All the cardstock is from my stash, and I got to use a lot of my scraps for the dies. The kimono die is from Cheery Lynn Designs and I used Graphic 45 Bird Song designer paper. After I cut the kimono, I then layered it on cardstock and fussy cut around it. This layout needed some pop of color so I added fan die cuts in a brighter color. Those beautiful fan dies are from SCACD. I have had this die for several months, and I finally have something to use it on.

Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions please contact me. Now, hop on over to 613 Avenue Create and join the fun.

MAWTT and RSD and Mariposa, Oh My!

I guess that is some title, huh? I thought maybe it would catch your attention. ;o)

This week I have the pleasure of being a guest designer on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) challenge blog.

Another plus to this is that one of my favorite artists (I’m on his design team too) is the sponsor… Rick St. Dennis MFA (RSD). His prize to the lucky winner at MAWTT is three digis of the winner’s choice from his Etsy shop. Please hop over and see the amazing little pieces of art MAWTT’s design team has created with Rick's images.

As most of you know I love to color with my Copics. Rick’s images are perfect for this type of work. Rick’s images are the most expressive and eclectic.  I have yet to find one that I do not want in my collection. Now the question is…will I ever color them all? The answer…nope, but I have them “just in case.”

Over at MAWTT the theme is “Fairies and Fantasy.” I wanted something unique and I found the perfect one, “Mariposa.” I did a Google search for “mariposa” and it is a synonym for “butterfly” (Portugal) and “moth” (Brazil). I am going to say she is the Goddess of Butterlies. I love her!

I chose some bright colors trying to depict spring and summer (really tired of winter). Mariposa was colored with Copics and then accented with Spicas and Wink of Stella glitter pens. I then did a fussy cut around her and mounted her on two pieces of SU cardstock cut with the Labels Six die. These were distressed with Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap.

My card base was created using cardstock and designer paper. The corner dies were done with the corners from the Lace Doily Accents die. Those intricate butterflies were created with the Les Papillions Two die. I doubled up on the butterflies to make them more dimensional. The roses are from my stash. The roses and butterflies were painted with Inspiration Paint in Pumpkin.

I would like to enter Mariposa in the following challenges:
Divas by Design – Butterflies or Birds
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes

That’s it for today. If you have any questions, you can contact me. Come join the “Fairies or Fantasy” fun at MAWTT.

Freebie Time with RSD

It’s that time of the month…Freebies by Rick St. Dennis MFA! Yep, it’s Rick’s “Freebie Time!” This happens once a month, the first Saturday of every month, but this time there's a special bonus. Rick’s blog and his Elite Design Team’s blogs have all been revamped, and we are starting anew. Therefore, Rick has designed THREE (3) new digis, one image for each blog.

I did get a couple of the freebies colored, so let me introduce them to you.

The first one is “Artemis the Sunday Painter.” You can find him on Rick’s Blog and check out the projects the other EDT created.

My second one is such a cutie! Meet “Denis the Artiste.” She is ready for pick up on our Sparkle and Glitter blog. Lots of eye candy there too.

The third one is “Art on the Brain,” but I did not get that one colored. To see all the wonderful work from the Airless Chamber’s design team, click here. You will also be able to pick up “Art on the Brain.”

Thanks for stopping by. Please do us a favor and follow the above three blogs. You will do our souls good.
