Dracula Edwin and Friends

I decided to play again in my studio and enter this one challenge that I have been telling myself to enter. And I am glad that I did! The challenge is over at Magnolia Stamp Lovers and they want us to “use Edwin only.” I have been procrastinating for almost a week, because I usually stay away from creating anything masculine. After completing this, I think that I need to purchase some more Edwins. Edwin was fun to create with!

I colored Dracula Edwin with Copic markers. I apologize that I did not make notes on my colors. I do know that after coloring I used Spellbinder’s Mega Curved Rectangles to cut Edwin out. The edge distressing was completed with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. I also added some sparkle with Copic Spica Pens.

Can you see Dracula Edwin’s friends? Those little bats were created with the Spellbinder’s Nested Bats. After embossing, I highlighted them with white pigment ink. My fun designer paper is the “Mischievous” collection from My Mind’s Eye. The black ribbon and orange crystals are from my stash.

Dracula Edwin is also going to be entered in:
Cards and More Challenge – Anything Goes
Scrap Creations – Use anything that starts with a “D”
Sassy Cheryl’s Challenge – All About the Boys
Craft Your Passion Challenge – Anything Goes
Love to Create Challenge – Punches and Dies

Thanks for stopping by today. Contact me if you have any questions.

A Cupcake and A Strawberry

Hello everyone! I made some more time for me just to create and I am loving all the time I am spending in my studio.

This little project was a lot of fun to make. One reason is because I love coloring Delicious Doodles images. The other is Teri, Owner/Artist of Delicious Doodles is also having a Design Team Call. I have been waiting for this moment for a while. I check Delicious Doodles Challenge blog and the Facebook group quite often.

The assignment and challenge that Terri has given the applicants is to use her “cupcake with strawberry” image in a little piece of art. This card is my entry and "Thank You, Teri" for this beautiful cupcake image!
Most of you know that my favorite colors are red and purple. I especially like it when I can use the two colors together, so that’s what I decided to do. This yummy cupcake was colored with Copics, and I did a little accenting with Spica pens and Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. The dies are Spellbinder’s Classic Ovals and Scalloped Ovals. The flourish die is Cheery Lynn’s Designs Mini Flourish One. My cardstock is Stampin’ Up! and the designer paper is Prima Marketing Sweet Fairy collection and My Minds Eye Lime Twist collection.

The sketch is from The Sweet Stop Challenge SSS170. This sketch was perfect to add the layers and contrast that I like in my projects.

The other challenges that I am entering are:
Come and Get It Challenges – Adult Birthday
Corrosive Challenge – Birthday
No Matter Which Challenges – Anything Goes
Quirky Crafts – Cupcakes

I am glad that you stopped by. Contact me if you have any questions. Have a great and creative week!

It’s Hot, Now Cool Off!

It’s hot everywhere, and I don’t think it is going to cool off any time soon. So, why don’t you all head to your studios and craft rooms, think winter, and create something with the theme of “Christmas with a Tag.” That’s our Get Hippity with {ippity} challenge and you have three (3) days to create a project.

If you need a little more inspiration, other than the heat, check out these little pieces of art that were created last week by my GHWI Design Team.

Rhonda created the perfect holiday note card. I love how she combined all her layers and used Christmas red and green. The {ippity} set used here is Season of Joy.

Anita’s is a very elegant and beautiful project for Christmas. Look at all the layers using die cuts, a beautiful bow, and one sentiment. Anita used Kissmas & Mistletoe.

Patti is up to her tricks, again, with vellum again. Love the very simple layout and the colors she chose for her project. Patti used Kissmas & Mistletoe and Gingham Christmas Greeting.

Pam created with So this is Love {ippity} set. What an imaginative way of using a non-holiday stamp set. Just beautiful!

Another reason why I want you all to come play and enjoy these last three days is that I have decided to close the GHWI Challenge Blog with this challenge. I want to thank all of you for making this a success, and it has been a success! I have met a lot of wonderful and talented people along the way, including my very creative GHWI Design Team. I will miss everyone tremendously. This has been a wonderful experience, and I don’t regret any of it, but it is time. Don’t worry, I will still have my {ippity} Sales Blog open. If you just need some {ippity} goodness, please visit my blog. I do appreciate the business.

Thanks for stopping by and stay indoors! Contact me if you have any questions.
