Witch Tilda at Lady Anne’s

It has been a very long time for me to be able to sit and color just for coloring-sakes. It has also been a very long time since I have colored a Magnolia stamp. Let me tell you this was so relaxing until I came to the actual layout of my finished card.

My little piece of art was created for our very first challenge over at a new forum, Lady Anne’s Paper Crafts. Challenge #1 was to make a card with one layer and one embellishment. This was very hard for me, thank you very much! I love lots of layers with designer papers and cardstocks, but I think that I pulled it off.

The entire card is 90# watercolor paper and has a finished size of 4¼”x5½”. I stamped Witch Tilda with VersaFine Black Onyx and then started water coloring with Distress Inks and Distress Markers. This was my first time using the Distress Markers and I love them! The sentiment “Spooky” is from a Holiday set designed by Cindy Echtinaw, owner of Stamping Scrapping.
Some of the other supplies used are:
Watercolor paper (my stash);
Water brush;
Sponge daubers (love my little daubers);
Black ribbon (my stash);
Distress Inks in Black Soot, Barn Door, Tea Dye,
Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo;
Distress Markers in Aged Mahogany, Black Soot, Tea Dye.

Other challenges that I am entering Witch Tilda are:
Anything Goes Challenge Blog – Let’s not be square,
Party Time Tuesdays – Anything goes,
Twisted Tuesday’s – Anything goes,
Tammy’s Scrapping Corner – Anything goes.

Thanks for stopping by. Contact me if you have any questions.

Melissa created a beautiful gift box using {ippity} sets Warm Wishes and Gingham Christmas Greetings.

Kristy’s delightful little card was created with Kissmas & Mistletoe.

Julia’s little piece used Java Friend and Season of Joy. What a wonderful idea for Java Friend!

Jen really likes this little penguin and her art shows it. Her wonderful card uses Pain & Pride.

For more information on these festive creations, hop on over to the GHWI Design Team’s personal blogs. I know they would love a visit.

Inspiration for a July Christmas

Happy Monday! Yep, that’s me, trying to stay positive on a Monday. LOL! I hope everyone is staying cool. I am having to stay indoors because of the heat and our ozone levels. My Bobby Joe is the one having to deal with the heat. Out of the kindness of his heart, he runs all the errands, or he knows that we won’t eat unless he does run the errands. ;o)

Now down to business. I have a few more inspiration pieces from my GHWI Design Team that I want to share. These works of art are for our GHWI Challenge #23 – Christmas in July with a Tag.

Rhonda created this beautiful card with {ippity} stamp set Season of Joy. I love this Rhonda! Your CAS layout is perfect for the set you used.

Anita, one of my newest design team members, used Kissmas and Mistletoe and Gurnsey Gingham. I love her style and the red and blue, with a touch of green, color choices. Great job, Anita!

Patti, another talented addition to my design team member group, did not have her {ippity} in her sweet little hands. She decided to go ahead and use the snow globe from Unity. Fantastic Patti! Love your color choices!

Pam decided to create with three {ippity} stamp sets, Dream to BE, Now and Always, and How YOU Doin'?. What a great layout with these three stamps, very creative! Pam, you have given me a lot of ideas!

I hope you take a peek every day on our GHWI Challenge Blog for inspiration. After you get your creative juices flowing and you join in, you could win an {ippity} by Unity stamp set of your choice from my ippity sales blog.

You are invited to a couple of fun GHWI groups. One is over at The Crafter’s CaféGet Hippity with {ippity}/Join the Unity Community. We have a monthly card game where you can win a few {ippity} surprises. The next one is our Facebook group, Get Hippity with {ippity}. This one is for everyone to show off your pieces of art using {ippity} and Unity stamps. I would love to see you all at both of our fun GHWI groups.

After you have joined any or both of our GHWI groups, you are invited to our GHWI Blog Hop, August 10-12, sponsored by my amazing GHWI Design Team. This blog hop is open to all members of the above groups. If you are interested in making a project using {ippity} stamps and join our blog hop, please email my Design Team Coordinator Melissa, and let her know. Do you need more incentive to join the blog hop fun? Well at the end of the hop, one random blog hop participant (these are the ones actually creating and writing for the blog hop) will receive a $10.50 stamp set, of their choice, from my {ippity} sales blog.

Well, that’s it for today. I hope you come join us for all our activities. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Chick Challenges with {ippity}!

It’s Thursday and time for the latest sketch challenge from Chick Challenges with {ippity}. I, a Unity Endorsed {ippity} Chick, am your sponsor for this week. Let’s get started!

This is the beautiful sketch that I chose to challenge you all. The Chick Challenge crew are so talented in creating these various sketches. My hats off to them!

Here is my rendition of this week’s sketch. I did make it square and probably added to many layers, but the “too many layers,” that’s something that I cannot do without. I love layers and contrast, everything seems to pop.

The {ippity} stamp set that I stamped with is “The Simple Things.” For the coloring I used a technique that I have not done in many moons. I colored the butterfly bloom stamp with Memento Markers. After the coloring was complete, I “huffed” on the stamp and stamped on a piece of Cryogen cardstock. I need to try this technique more, good exercise for the lungs. ;o)

Other supplies used are:
CS: SU in Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Kraft
DP: My Mind’s Eye-Stella & Rose collection
Inks: Memento Markers, Forest Moss DI
Embellishments: Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam-Chandelier, pearls from

Challenges that I am entering are:
{ippity} by Unity Monday Linky Party
Jackson’s Digital Expressions – Anything Goes w/optional color twist
Paper Take Weekly – Strawberries and Cream
Stamp N Plus – Anything Goes
Fashionista’s Challenge – Winged Things

A standing invitation goes out to everyone to join a couple of fun groups. The first is at The Crafter’s CaféGet Hippity with {ippity}, and the second is our Facebook group – Get Hippity with {ippity}. Come join us and show us your love of {ippity} and Unity.

Also, check out my Get Hippity with {ippity}/Join the Unity Community (GHWI) Challenge Blog. My very talented and wonderful GHWI Design Team has daily inspiration for you. The current challenge is “Christmas in July with a tag.” Come join in the fun!

Remember you have two ways to get your {ippity} by Unity fix. The first is head over to my {ippity} Sales Blog and go shopping. The second is the Unity Co. website. All you have to do is pick me, Aletha Williams, as your {ippity} chick and go shopping for {ippity}. After you have picked out your {ippity} goodies, go shop for some Unity too. Yep, that’s right, you can shop for both at the same time. Just remember to pick me as your {ippity} Chick.

Thanks for stopping by! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate contacting me.
