Let your Heart take flight!

WooHoo! This is my fourth project completed this week. I should challenge myself every week. For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, I challenged myself to create a project each day for this week (business days only). My other projects are posted on my AJ’s Alternative Endeavors blog. When you have time, hop on over.

This project is from the {ippity} April release, “Let your Heart take flight.” I love this set, but it did give me a moments pause. I know that it is and will be great for mixed-media art, but my self-challenge gave me only enough time for cards. I decided to keep it simple. Just a note: the entire {ippity} April release was designed by Angie Blom.

All of my cardstock is Stampin’ Up! I knew that I didn’t want to use designer papers, but I needed a base and I didn’t want just plain cardstock. I decided to use Spellbinder’s Impressabilities. I have had this particular one, Butterfly Garden, for some time now, so it was time to take it out of its package. After the embossing, I then used DI in Black Soot and Frayed Burlap to make the embossing pop. I like the effect.

I stamped the winged heart from the set in VersaMark Black and colored with my PrismaColor pencils. I like to switch my mediums up once in a while and this image seemed perfect for colored pencils. The sentiment was stamped and then cut out. This was a very easy project, and clean and simple.
Challenges that I am entering are:
Scrapbook Sisters – Anything Goes
Celebrate the Occasion – Anything Goes

If you are interested in this “Let your Heart take flight,” or any other {ippity} set, you can find them on my {ippity} sales blog. You can also shop {ippity} at the Unity website. You just have to pick me, Aletha Williams, as your {ippity} Chick. Shop for {ippity} and then add some Unity while you are at it.

Thanks for stopping by! I will have one more project tomorrow and I hope to see you again!

Did you see all the {ippity} inspiration?

My GHWI Design Team has been busy for our Challenge #21: Flowers with Leaves. I wanted to show you all the inspiration they have given you and me! They are truly amazing!

Melissa’s lovely creation was completed using Now and Always and Friends + Flowers = Priceless. I love the colors she chose to use.

Julia used Now and Always and Just Wanted to Say for her beautiful card. Take a look at her keychain. She used Bloom & Simplify for her keychain. What a great idea for that {ippity} set!

Tracey used her own {ippity} design for her little piece of art. The {ippity} set she used is Raining Happy.

Jen’s lovely card was created using The Simple Things. She even made her own color of embossing powder. Jen was the Growing in Unity designer for this week. Stop by her blog and take a look at what she accomplished this past week.

You have one more week to join in our Get Hippity with {ippity} Challenge #21. Next week you will have more inspiration from the rest of my GHWI Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by!

Chick Challenges with {ippity}

Welcome to our next Chick Challenges with {ippity} Sketch Challenge. I am your {ippity} Hot Chick (I love saying this, especially at my age!) for this week.
We have a wonderful sketch for you this time around and the prize is a $14(ish) shopping spree at my {ippity} Sales Blog.
We just introduced the June {ippity} release and I decided to use “Courage is my Strength.” This beautiful set, as were all of June’s {ippity} releases, was designed by Dana Carlson. I do love butterflies. I was a little under the weather for this one and me and my Copics were not cooperating, so I decided to use my PrismasColor pencils. I do love the all black and pink for this one.

Unity Co. is having a pre-Memorial Day Weekend sale of 31% off sale off all {ippity} stamp sets. This wonderful sale started yesterday and will continue until Sunday, May 28. When you head over there please pick me as your {ippity} Chick. I would so appreciate it! The {ippity} stamp set 31% off sale is at the Unity Co. site only, NOT my {ippity} Sales Blog.

Dream with your heart!

Happy Monday! I hope y’all had a great weekend. It was, and still is, beautiful in Oklahoma. We do need some rain, but this sunshine is wonderful.

To start this blog off I wanted to let you know that Get Hippity with {ippity} Challenge Blog has announced Challenge #21. The theme is “Flowers and a Leaf.” This should be a real easy one for you, but do take note of the quantity of leaves. You do not have to use an {ippity} or Unity stamp, but it is encouraged. Why you ask? Because if you use an {ippity} or Unity stamp, your entry is counted twice. Also, this is our last bi-monthly challenge. In June we are going to a monthly, but you are still going to get the same amount of inspiration from my amazing GHWI Design Team. These ladies are the most awesome when it comes to using {ippity}. Their creativity does shine!

This has nothing to do with our challenge, but I wanted to share a project I completed this weekend. This is a handmade and hand stamped greeting card (of course). The only Copic coloring that I completed is on the background, skin, and flowers. The rest is paper pieced and layered. My DP is from Cosmo Cricket and the CS is from Stampin’ Up! The inks I used were Memento Tuxedo Black and black pigment ink. I also did a little embossing with black embossing powder.
The set, Angie Girl: Dream with your heart, that I used for my little piece of art, was designed by Unity Artist Angie Blom. This set was also one of our April {ippity} releases. If you are interested in purchasing this set, please click here. You will be directed to my {ippity} Sales Blog. You can also purchase it through Unity Co.’s site. Just pick me as your {ippity} Chick and shop for your {ippity}. While you are there, you can shop Unity too. Are you interested in this 5”x7” greeting card? You can purchase that here at my brand new IndieMade site.

Just a few other things…I would like to invite you to join our groups. We have one at The Crafter's Cafe - Get Hippity with Ippity. We have another contest going on over there. Whoever posts the most {ippity} or Unity cards wins a grab bag of stamps. Some of the ladies are really keeping busy and making some beautiful cards. Please come on over and check us out. We also have a group on Facebook for more inspiration.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate asking. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again!

Counts as a Fruit!

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I think that Spring is gone and Summer has arrived in Oklahoma. I think our high is suppose to be 92º today. That is hot for the beginning of May.

I have one little piece of art to share with you today. I rather enjoyed making this one. It reminded me that I need to get back on track with my Weight Watchers®. It also reminded me that with Weight Watchers® we all try to stretch that point system as far as we can! ;o)

This card is using {ippity}’s Itty Bitty stamp set, “Counts as a Fruit,” and was designed by Unity Artista Tracey Malnofski. It’s also my sample for our “A Year in Cards” challenge over at Crafting by Designs. I hope you join us. We have some wonderful prizes and sponsors. My {ippity} store is one of the sponsors, no subtlety at all!

I am also entering this in the Chick Challenges with {ippity} #29. The Chickies have a sketch for you and your deadline is May 13th. We have extended the challenges to every other week. I hope you join us to win some {ippity} goodness.

For some fun challenges check out these two sites, Crafting by Designs and Chick Challenges with {ippity}. A third site to check out is our Get Hippity with {ippity} Challenge Blog. This challenge will be a beatiful sketch designed by my Design Team Member Beth and begins on Monday. It's also another chance for you to win some {ippity} goodness.

For more {ippity} goodness check out my {ippity} sales blog. If it’s not in stock, I can order it for you. Your can also order {ippity} on the Unity site. You just need to pick me as your ippity Chick and while you are there you can order some Unity too. Just a teaser here...we will have a new {ippity} release on Thursday, May 10, at 7 p.m. Be on the look out for a blog hop and a party!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
