Sweet Pea Stamps No. 1

Happy weekend everyone!

I have the privilege of being the guest designer for Sweet Pea Stamps during the month of August! I am truly honored and overjoyed. I also think that I have almost all of Lynette’s (owner of SPS) stamps that she makes. I am a “stampaholic,” be it rubber or digi. My little 8’x 6’ studio is overflowing with stamps.

For my first project I created a card (of course) using one of ching chou kuik’s Fantasy Art Collection, Sheet 33, Plate 126. I have admired ching chou kuik’s talent from the very beginning of discovering Sweet Pea Stamps. Now SPS has added a large range and talent of other artists. You need to check out the site August 1. Lynette is adding another new artist to her collection.

I mixed up this project just a little by using both my Copics and PrismaColor pencils. The image’s hair and background were colored with the pencils and all other parts were completed using my Copics. I do like the result, if I do say so myself. LOL!

Details for this Fantasy Art Collection project are:
Copics: e000, 11; r20, 29, 89; v01, 06, 09; yg95, 99.
PrismaColor pencils: crimson red; french grey in all shades; olive green; steel; white.
Inks: Memento in Tuxedo Black; Spicas in Lavender, Lemon, Lipstick, Olive.
DP: BasicGrey Wisteria.
CS: Stampin’ Up!; Bazzill.
Flowers: my stash.
Dies: Magnolia Doohickeys; Marianne Design Creatables.
Challenges that I have entered:
CCEE Stamps – create something winter or summer
Paper Play Challenges – in the garden
Stamp Insanity – use your favorite colors
Amber’s Crafts and Stuff – use patterned paper
Papercraft Star – anything goes

Thanks for stopping by, I do sincerely appreciate it! I like followers, too! If you have any questions, do not hesitate contacting me.

Paper Creations Ink Blog Hop

Happy Saturday!

Are you ready for a blog hop? Paper Creations Ink is sponsoring this blog hop using The Stamping Boutique’s images by Tracey Malnofski.

The theme is “Enjoying Summer!” You are enjoying the summer, right? Here in the middle of the US we are definitely feeling the summer heat, but we just have to remember the blizzard we had to cool off. LOL!

The blog candy for PCI’s hop is:

How do you win this wonderful package! You must leave a comment on each blog or hop stop and Mr. Random will choose the winner from all the comments. This blog hop starts today, Saturday, at 12:01 a.m. and ends Sunday, July 24, at 7 p.m.

My first creation is from one from Tracey’s imagination “Beach Baby with Hat.” Isn’t she darling? I have colored her with my favorite media, Copics and Spica pens. My paper and pearl embellishments are from my stash. I probably purchased both from Hobby Lobby. I used a punch for the sea weed.

My next one is also from The Stamping Boutique titled “Summer Laundry Line.” This was a lot of fun to color. I used my Copics and Spicas again, but the background was completed with chalks. I wanted that soft sky look, and I haven’t figured out how to accomplish that with Copics.

Now let’s go hopping! Here’s is the hop list. Remember you must leave a comment on each hop stop.
Paper Creations Ink (this is where you should have come from)
Aletha (you are here now!)
Karen (this is your next stop)

Thanks for hopping with us all! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate contacting me.

Challenge #3 with GHWI – Christmas in July

Happy Monday everyone!

We at Get Hippity with Ippity (GHWI) group have a challenge going on over at The Latte Lounge. What else should it be for this HOT July…Christmas in July. It’s that time of the year when all the artists start thinking about creating for the holidays. I have several shows that I want to participate in, but will I be ready in time? I guess I need to get to work. LOL! This challenge is really easy. You must join the GHWI group at The Latte Lounge, enter your project just once, and it has to be Christmas themed. You can enter any form of art: cards, collage, rubber stamp art, etc. You do not have to use an {ippity} or Unity stamp, but if you do, your name will go in the drawing twice. The prize is an {ippity} stamp set of your choice from my {ippity} sales blog.

On to my project:
This was getting me out of my box again. I love it when that happens. It is still a card, but I made my own background paper. The {ippity} stamp set that I used is Season of Joy. I also colored with my PrismaColor pencils, no Copics in site. My inspiration came from a Paper Cretations Ink Design Team Member, Miranda. Please take a moment to check out Miranda's wonderful art work and check out Paper Creations Ink. You might be interested to know that PCI has two challenges a month.

Challenges for my Christmas in July:
{ippity} Challenge Blog – use an {ippity} or Unity quote or encouraging sentiment  (I am entering it as a “Unity Endorsed {ippity} Chick, and not as a contestant.)
All things Unity #35 – Ribbon or Twine (must use an {ippity} or Unity stamp)
Sentimental Sundays #63 – use unconventional stamping materials or techniques (I made my own background paper)
Mark’s Finest Papers – use a die cut as a background mat
Class Act Insider – color combo red, white, & green, and must use a rubber stamp
Prairie Fairy Fridays – swirls & pearls
Inspire Me Fridays – always anything goes

Other details:
PrismaColor Pencils: white, apple green, marine green, olive green, raspberry, mahogany red.
Inks: Memento in Tuxedo Black, ColorBox Metalextra in Verdigris, SU Craft ink in Whisper White and Bravo Burgundy.
Glimmer Mist: lilly pad
Cardstock: SU kraft and bravo burgundy, Neenah classic 80# white
Dies: Marianne Designs from Joanna Sheen-labels, double frames, flowers & leaves
Ribbon: SU ⅜” white organza
Embellishments: Viva Décor Pearl Pen in silver, pearl sprays from Hobby Lobby

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I see you over at The Latte Lounge. When you get a minute, hop on over to my {ippity} sales blog, and take a look at the design teams inspiration pages. There are some wonderful ideas there.

Have a great and creative week!
