Just for Fun!

Happy Wednesday!

I decided to create something using one of my favorite Tilda’s, Japanese Tilda. This was a “just for fun” project, no design team deadlines, or no deadlines that I set for myself. I love Magnolia’s and I don’t create enough with them. And needless to say this is a very short post. I hope you enjoy my little piece of art.

Challenges that I have entered:
Craft Your Passion – use dots
Critter Sketch Challenge #61 – use 2 different punches/dies
Make it Monday #33 – Anything goes
Pile It On #16 – smells like rubber
Copic Creations – What’s your favorite paper for Copic coloring? Mine is Cryogen 80# Iridescent white
Druken Stamper Challenge #63 – don’t use anything that uses electricity

Supplies used for my project:
Stamps: The inside stamps-Lacey and Beaded Bundle Set; Japanese Tilda
Copics: r20, 22, 29, 89; e000, 11; bg10, 18, 72; c1, 3, 5, 7, 9
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black; Ancient Page Deep Harbor, Smooch Illuminate
Pens: Spicas Turquoise, Lipstick, Melon, Olive; Gelly Roll Clear Star
DP: My Mind’s Eye Bloom and Grow; Basic Grey Hello Luscious
CS: Cryogen 80#, Bazzil Rain and Blue Calypso
Dies: Spellbinder's Foliage and Labels 18
Embellishments: Stickles Star Dust; Wild Orchid Roses

Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate contacting me. I have also listed Japanese Tilda in my Etsy Studio.

Challenge No. 5 at the House of Gilli

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. I did and it was very creative.

I, Aletha (some people call me AJ), am the hostess for the House of Gill’s FIFTH challenge. I challenge you to use STRIPES AND BLING! This should be an easy one.

Speaking for the Design Team at the House of Gilli, we thrilled to have such a great response to our new blog. I just wanted to say how much we appreciate all of the entries. This has been, and will continue being, so much fun!

I have had my Basic Grey designer paper picked out for over a month. When it caught my eye I knew it was for Boho Gilli. It screamed “Flower Power” or maybe “Girl Power.” Anyway, I thought, “You go girl!” I love bright colors!

This is a list of supplies that I used:
CS: SU’s Only orange and Bashful Blue
DP: Basic Grey’s Lime Rickey
Copics: yr01, 02; e000, 07, 11, 13, 34, 50, 59; r20; b21, 26; w2, 4
Inks/Pens: Memento Tuxedo Black; Spicas in Chocolate, Gold; Gelly Roll Clear Star
Crystals: Olive (I think I got these from Paper Wishes)
Ribbon: Felt ribbon from Michaels (the bargain bin!)
Spellbinders Dies: Crown Ovals
I have also entered Boho Gilli in these challenges:
Craft Your Days Away – Spots and Stripes
Card Makin’ Mamas – Embellish It
The Outlawz Friday Copic/Promarker Challenge – Mix mediums on image (I used Copics and Spicas)
Papertake Weekly – Anything Goes, but with something new (Boho Gilli rubber stamp)
By the Cute and Girly – Anything cute and girly

Thanks for stopping by.

I hope you join us over at the House of Gilli! And, if you use a Gilli in your little piece of art, be sure and post it at the House of Gilli Yahoo group and the Gilli Gallery on Flickr.

Have a great week!
Aletha

Challenge No. 1 with Get Hippity with Ippity

Welcome to our very first challenge at Get Hippity with Ippity/Join the Unity Community! This challenge runs for the entire month of April. That give you lots of time. The theme is Spring/Summer and Anything Goes. We want to see your creations pertaining to anything spring or summer. And you can create whatever you want, be it cards, scrapbook layout, Easter baskets, etc., whatever your heart's desire. There’s also going to be a First and a Second prize winner. Check out the blog for the prizes. Another thing, if you use an Ippity or Unity stamp in your creation, you will be entered in the judging twice. (The judges are my Design Team, Melissa and Sara!)

I wanted to share with you my little piece of art. My colors turned out to be more summer than spring, but it can go for both seasons. I have used the Ippity stamp set “Sing a New Song.” The finished project is bright (which I like) and a little out of my comfort zone. This was just the second time I used my sewing machine on paper. I still need practice, but I think I am hooked. I love the texture stitching gives paper. I think this was the first time I have used just FIVE Copic colors. LOL!

Challenges that I have entered:
SSC Creative Card Challenges – Stitching on your project
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge – Animals/Pets
DYSU Challenge – Use lots of yellow
Dutch Dare Card Challenge – Spring has Sprung
The Paper Shelter – Anything goes

Supplies I used for “Sing a New Song”:
Stamp set: Ippity “Sing a New Song”
Copics: y15, 17; yr15; bg18, 32
Pens/Inks: Spica in Turquoise; Gelly Roll in Clear Star;
Memento in Tuxedo Black
Embellishments: Stitching in red thread;
yellow pearls from Kaiser Craft
DP: Cosmos Cricket “Togetherness”
CS: Cryogen 80#; SU Real Red and Summer Sun
(Summer Sun may be discontinued)

I hope you join us for our first challenge at Get Hippity with Ippity/Join the Unity Community.

Glad you stopped by.
