Merry Christmas and a little Midnight Madness

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

I thought the title for my post was appropriate. Were you not shopping at midnight for all the Black Friday deals? I wasn’t, but I know that my darling daughter was. They just bought a house in town (they have lived in the boonies for years) and they need some new appliances. So, congratulations, Scott and Heidi, on your new home and surviving the mobs. I will pat anyone on the back who survived the throng. LOL I shopped online.:)

This will probably be my last Christmas card for the season. There’s just a few more weeks and it’s that time of year again! This year has passed so fast!

On to my project! I am entering this in the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #81

The digital image that I have chosen is from Priscilla Styles “Merry Christmas wreath.”  Please visit Priscilla’s store for some beautiful and vintage style digital images.

My recipe for my piece of art is:
Copics used:

Other: The DP is from Webster Pages 6”x6” combo pack Waiting for Santa and Sweet Season. The cardstock used is from SU in Always Artichoke and Cranberry Crisp. The digi was printed on Cryogen Iridescent 80# (this is the best stock for your Copics). The dies are Spellbinders Nestabilities in Lacey Squares and Large Squares. The accents I have used (which really do not show in the photo) are Spicas, Gelly Roll pens, and Craft-T Chalks. The petals were created using a Magnolia DooHickey Poinsettia die. I also used backstitching (first time, for me, on a card) with gold thread for more embellishment.

Here’s just a few more challenges that I have entered:
Cards for Men: Christmas Cards
Artful Inkables: All about punches or dies
Christmas Stamping’ All Year Long: anything goes
Beary Sweet Challenge #14: Anything goes

That’s about it for now. OU and OSU are playing tonight. I’m not that big of fan of football, until this game. It can get stressful because I want to cheer for both teams. LOL

Happy Holidays with TSB and Scrap it with a Song!

Hello everyone!

We at The Stamping Boutique just finished with our Design Team Blog Hop. And it was a success! Everyone on the Design Team was showing their true colors and the talent was abundant, if I say so myself.

This card that I just completed is another small square. (4¾”x 4¾”) For what I am trying to get accomplished, this is just the right size.

The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring Scrap it with a Song blog challenge.  The theme is “Winter Wonder Land.”

I have chosen the image Snowman with Sign from The Stamping Botique.  I stamped the sentiment “Happy Holidays” from Flourishes Christmas Classics stamp set.

The ribbon I used is from my stash. I probably picked it up from the bargain bin at Michaels. The black and white cardstock is from Stampin' Up! All the other supplies (Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders Lotus die, Spellbinders Circle die, Copic markers, and Cryogen cardstock) can be purchased at StampingScrapping.  This is definitely the online store for stamps and supplies. If Cindy does not have it, just email her. I bet you she can get it for you!

And these are the Copics I used:

Other challenges I have entered:
The Play Date Café-Red, Olive, Turquoise
Cooking it up with Katie-Use a punch, add a little gold, make it for your family
Fab n Funky Challenge-Forget me not (my ribbon in my stash)
Digi Doodle Shops Best-Anything goes

Thanks for stopping by! And have a great Thanksgiving!

Abundant Blessings and TSB

And my blessings are abundant! I have a wonderful family, a VERY supportive husband, a gracious and understanding set of best friends, I live in a beautiful historical neighborhood in the middle of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and I am on this wonderful Design Team for The Stamping Boutique (TSB).  What more could I ask for? I do count my blessings everyday.

For this blog hop here are the participants and their order:

Collette
Genevieve
Stacie
Jan
Jenn
Melissa (this is where you came from)
Aletha (this is where you are, and my letter is "H")
Debbie (this is your next stop)
Amanda
You need to visit each blog, leave some love, collect the letters from each blog, and when you get to Amanda's blog, leave her some love with the secret word. After you have completed these steps, you will have a chance to win two images from The Stamping Boutique.

This project was another fun one. Everything feel into place again. The finished size is 4¾” x 4¾”. I really like this size for a square card. I do think I am going to do more.

The image I used is Audrey the Pilgrim from The Stamping Boutique. Tracey, artist and owner of The Stamping Boutique, is one of my very best friends and her illustrations are to die for. I am so fortunate to get to use her imagination with my imagination. Thank you, Tracey!

The copics I used are:

I did purchase a supply of these ready made cards from Envelopper, Inc.  In fact, when I purchase ready made cards, I purchase from them. They have the envelopes to match. This base card is the Stardream Copper

The sentiment is from a Verve stamp set, “Bountiful Harvest.”  You gotta love those Verve stamps!

I also used Spellbinders dies in the Eyelet Circles and Scallop Ovals. You can find these from StampingScrapping. And talk about friendly and another best friend, Cindy is the best. Oh…her service and loyalty to her customers…well you won’t find this kind of quality anywhere else. Yes, this is a biased opinion. The inks I used are Memento Tuxedo Black and Cantaloupe. I accented with Smooch Ink in Illuminate and Spica pens in Black, Lipstick, Orange, and Chocolate. The white accents are done with a Sharpie poster paint. The punch work is done in SU’s copper cardstock and was completed with Martha Stewart punches which I purchased from Michaels.

Thanks so much for checking out the blog hop. Your next stop is

Peace and Joy

I hope everyone has had a good weekend. It is winding down for me, but I do want to try and create something else after this posting. Although Watson the Dachshund might change my plans with walking, needing attention, etc. (you know how it goes with the four-legged rug rats).

This creation was very relaxing to do. Everything fell into place for some reason. I do like those days. lol

I have had this stamp set for about a month and set my mind to do something with it these past few days. I purchased it from Flourishes, Christmas Classics.  It is one of my favorite sets when it comes to the holidays. I have many stamp sets from Flourishes. They are so elegant.

The Spellbinder and Tim Holtz dies I purchased from StampingScrapping.  Cindy and Kevin are the best when it comes to customer service and their shipping time is unbelievable. Go take a visit.

Below are the Copics I used. I also purchase my Copics http://www.stampingscrapping.com/category_289/Copic-Markers.htm from StampingScrapping.

The designer paper I used is “Mistletoe” from Memory Box. The cardstock used is SU’s Real Read, Cryogen Iridescent (also purchased from StampingScrapping, I like them just a little.), and Neenah Classic Solar White.

I also used Memento dye inks in Tuxedo Black and Bamboo Leaves. For a little sparkle I used Smooch ink and Spica pens in chocolate, lemon, and red.

Before I forget…you can purchase my holiday card at Etsy, or you might like to try my Zibbet studio.

Paper Playtime Rocks!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We had beautiful weather in Tulsa. In fact it was almost hot, but not quite. This is the time of year you don’t know whether to keep the AC on or turn the AC off and fire up the furnace. We are also at peak for the fall colors.

Now down to business:

“Rock on over” to Paper Playtime’s Challenge #24 “You Rock!”
It is being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique,  one of my favorite places. Check out what some of Tracey’s Design Team members have created here.  The winner will receive five digi images, of their choice, from Tracey (artist/owner of The Stamping Boutique). Just think…that’s FIVE digital stamps of your choice…I said FIVE.
For my posting I have chosen “12 drummers drumming”  from Tracey’s 12 Days of Christmas Snowmen line.
I have also chosen to do it in the easel card format, but the size is only 4¼” x 5½”. This is the smallest one that I have ever made.  I sure seem to be on an easel card trip.

These are the Copics that I have used (Copics I will never get tired of!).

I have not used any DP, but I have used SU’s Real Read and Always Artichoke cardstock. The image was printed on Cryogen Iridescent 80#. If you have not used this stock for Copic coloring, please try it. I feel that once you try it, it will be your choice for your Copic art.

The sentiment was computer generated and then die cut with Spellbinders Fancy Tags. I used Memento Brick dye ink for the accent.

The front image and red layer were die cut with Spellbinders Mega Curved Rectangles.

That’s it for today. I hope I see everyone over at Paper Playtime.
Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Wishes for my Mom

I just received this Tilda image “Apple Tilda” from Cindy and Kevin at StampingScrapping.com. I had to color her for my Mother. My Mom just loves these little "angels" and her favorite layout is the easel card. So for her 76th birthday, on Saturday, this is what I came up with.

And while I was at it, I decided to use Priscilla’s sketch at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #78. I really twisted it some so they may kick me out. I combined the fancy layout with the clean layout. Check them out:

The Copics that I used are:

I am so happy with the way this turned out. The layout worked just great. I used Magnolia Leaf and Swirl DooHickey dies for the swirls. I also used Spellbinders Nestabilitie dies, the Beaded Ovals and the Large Ovals. The designer paper I used is from Basic Grey 6”x6” pad June Bug.

I also got way out of my comfort zone. I finally colored something with the light source coming straight on. I usually show the shadow on the right hand side of an image, but not this time. This is also my first time I have combined red and yellow. Thank goodness for those mini pads of designer paper. They sure help when you are in a color rut.

Thanks so much for stopping by. You all have a great weekend! I know we will, we are taking my wonderful Mom out for a birthday dinner! I know that I am blessed to still have her around!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate contacting me at ajsdesigns@cox.net.

See you next week!
